A Luckenbooth brooch is a Scottish heart-shaped brooch with a crown above one heart or two intertwined hearts. Luckenbooth is a Scots word for a lockable stall or workshop. These booths were situated in Edinburgh on the Royal Mile near St. Giles Cathedral going back as far as the 15th century. The Luckenbooth brooch is a traditional Scottish love token similar to the Irish Claddagh.
