We often stay at Forss in Caithness where there is a magnificent waterfall - I can watch the gushing water for hours, casting shapes and shadows. My husband, Rick's pictures really capture the excitement and beauty of the abstract shapes the water creates.

This Stone Circles necklace in sterling silver features a hand-enamelled standing stones design, hand-finished in Orkney, Scotland. The pendant design elegantly hangs from a sterling silver curb chain.

Inspired by the setting sun encircling the stones of the Ring of Brodgar, an ancient monument in the heart of Neolithic Orkney, built over 4,500 years ago. Was this iconic circle a religious shrine or was it built for astronomical observations of the solstice and equinox? Sheila’s own romantic notion is that the great stone circle was a form of clock or calendar to mark times and seasons important to the Neolithic people.

Stone Circles is a complementary collection to Sheila’s Standing Stones collection, inspired by the Standing Stones of Stenness, another of Orkney’s ancient marvels.

The sea ebbs, leaving glistening pools of water among the exposed rocks, a haven between the tides for tiny colourful sea creatures. This collection of enamelled and stone set jewellery originated from Sheila's memories of exploring the rocky shoreline of Hoxa Head as a child.

A moonstone is set in the inner rim of the pool.

Chain is 16 inches.

Hand-made in Orkney Island by one of Scotland's leading designers, Sheila Fleet.  This enamelled sterling silver Creel Necklace mimics the pattern of fishermen’s creels. Silver strands on the front of the piece combine and curve to form elegant shapes, the 'Pentland' enamel representing trapped sea water. The piece hangs on a silver neckwire.

Sheila’s Creel collection, one of her most iconic, features a variety of designs based on fishermen’s creels. The lattice-like design mimics the structure and pattern of the creel. Enamelled sections in some pieces represent the water trapped between woven sections when creels are pulled from the sea. Some of the larger necklaces in this collection contain solid silver or gold Groatie Buckies (northern cowrie shells)—lucky treasures from the sea.
